SHARKS x NEW ERA

THE AUGER'S favorite animal is the shark and it doesn't hurt that that's my hometown team. We ordered this New Era 39THIRTY fitted cap and he absolutely does not leave home without it - that and his "SHOOM KEE KEE" (translation: fish blankie). There's a slight stretch for extra comfort. The back four panels are made with soft breathable polyester mesh. The front panels are made of 100% cotton. The team's logo is on the back.

I Absolutely and Completely Adore Charlie and Lola

Just found this game and t-shirt on www.charlieandlola.com. Too cute!

KAWS x Spongebob Squarepants

I was tuning in to Spongebob before THE AUGER was born and I'll have to say I'm more of a fan than he is. World famous graffiti artist KAWS posted this on his blog at the beginning of the month. Enjoy.

Book of the Day: Turntable Timmy

THE AUGER and THE WHOA-WAH can't keep their hands off of big bro LIL C's turntables and I knew they'd love this book. Written by award-winning children's book author Michael Perry and legendary artist Doug Cunningham (of Morning Breath, Inc.), Turntable Timmy is the story of a boy determined to becoming the world's youngest turntable DJ champion. Parents are sure to love the message of persistence: Hard work and dedication—perfection takes practice, now he's quick like a fox, sharp as a cactus. Kids will love the dope rhymes and illustrations!

The book also comes with a rap-along CD, featuring three tracks, by world-renowned turntablist DJ Qbert. Check out the Turntable Timmy t-shirt (shown below in Navy and Lavendar) from The Giant Peach. $20.

Realer than Reals

These plastic toys, I'd allow. THE AUGER and I love the Play Wonder brand of toys at Target. He has the kitchen, the market, cash register, microwave, picnic bench and some cute as hell, all wooden food play sets. Play Wonder always comes out with thoughtful, quality crafted toys and these are no exception (I can't wait to see what they have coming out next). Here are some new, very realistic looking, kitchen and tool toys available in stores and online. They'd be perfect additions to his toy collection but we're kinda running out of room over here...

Halo x McFarlane

MR BITE AND GRRR and 'LIL C and THE HUSBAND spend many a weekends on the couch battling it out on Halo and these figures are sure to be a big hit in our home (our walls are decorated with hanging NIB action figures). These Halo figures are slated to arrive in stores during the second week of March 2008. The lineup consists of Master Chief, Cortana, Brute Chieftain, Jackal Sniper as well as three vehicles: Warthog, Ghost and Brute Chopper. Some chores are definitely gonna get done for these!

WTF

Quite a sad sight, I know. Who burns chicken nuggets? Sigh. I still have dinner to redeem myself.

7-11 Snack Attack

These chips are hella good!!! Thin, crispy and spicy... and fattening, but hella good. I can't resist anything spicy. Try 'em out if you see them. They're not available everywhere.

M.A.C. x Fafi

Adidas, LeSportsac and now M.A.C. French graffiti artist Fafi has created three new characters for M.A.C.: Eriko, Monoka and Ermine, along with a complete makeup collection consisting of compact powders, mascaras, lipsticks, glosses, paint pots...). The collection will be available at M.A.C counters in the United States on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2008. Fafi will be in NYC on February 13 at Bendal's for the release.

I've always been a fan of Fafi and it's been fun to watch her grow over the years. Actually, grow might be an understatement. In the past few years Fafi has been blowing up! Not only has she gained recognition in the U.S., but WORLDWIDE, for her Fafinettes of the Carmine Vault. Now that she's a mother, I'm hoping that she'll come up with some dope shit for children. Nevertheless, you can be certain that her future endeavors will keep getting bigger and better. Much respect to Fafi!

Below are some more photos of the collection along with the three new Fafinettes.

Carrots Want to Go to the Party in Your Tummy!!!

I love Yo Gabba Gabba! THE AUGER loves Yo Gabba Gabba! THE WHOA-WAH will love Yo Gabba Gabba! And a couple of weeks ago, I learned Kidrobot, "planet Earth's premier creator & retailer of limited edition toys, clothing, mini-figures, artwork & books" loves Yo Gabba Gabba! too!

Collectible vinyl figures of Foofa, Plex, Toodee, Muno and Brobee are now available on: www.kidrobotlovesyogabbagabba.com for $24.95 each. Collect them all! I'm suspecting they're gonna go fast.

For those that have been sleepin', Yo Gabba Gabba! is a live action children's show on Nickelodeon focused on being active and learning life lessons, with a hip-hop twist. The beats are ill and the melodies simple and catchy. Thank you to Yo Gabba Gabba for helping THE AUGER realize what mama has been emphasizing: not to throw toys, to eat his veggies, not to play in the street, sharp objects like scissors are dangerous and how to go crazy (that's stupid, dumb and hyphy where I'm from) when you dance.

This is a show that parents will enjoy as much as their children, not only for the entertainment factor but for the educational aspect as well. This children's show is like no other. Other bloggers have described this show as "weird", but I totally get it. This is my shit. Biz Markie's "Beat of the Day" is icing on the cake. Break it down.

I Love You Mommy With All My Heart

The two little ones and I were shopping at Costco when we came across this adorable wooden outdoor playhouse manufactured by KidKraft. The KidKraft outdoor playhouse has a real door, two windows (one with curtains and one with open and close shutters), a mailbox with a red flag, 2 flower pots, a sink, counter and 2 storage shelves as well as 2 benches. KidKraft comes out with some pretty dope furniture and it's all quality at a great value. If you're a plastic hater, as am I, and are looking for a sturdy playhouse, check it out at your local Costco or vist www.costco.com.

This was the happiest I've ever seen THE AUGER! I...I mean, THE AUGER, has been wanting an outdoor playhouse for some time now. The Victorian, cottage and cabin playhouses at Home Place Structures, as much as I'd kill to own one, are out of my range by a few G's, so this one will do for now. This is the plan: I'm going to have a whole village of playhouses with a market, post office, general store and restaurant with a G scale railroad and a pond and a bubbling brook with a bridge. I don't care if the kids are in their teens by the time that happens, that's the plan. It's gonna happen.

When we brought THE AUGER'S new playhouse home and opened the box, the smell of the stained wood was overwhelming. THE HUSBAND loved the smell, but he also loves the smell of paint and rubber cement, and come to think of it, skunk? It took me about six hours to put together, maybe because I had to use a tiny allen wrench to screw in a ton of bolts. Maybe because I didn't have any help. Maybe because it was late night/early morning and I had only slept four hours the night before. After hours of nausea, and with bags under my eyes and sore fingers (damn allen wrench), it was all worth it. The "I Love You Mommy With All My Heart" look - the sheer joy and delight in your child's face that just melts your heart. Who says money can't buy you happiness?

Every morning before THE HUSBAND leaves for work, he's going to leave THE AUGER and THE WHOA-WAH a special note (with a day of the week card - one more way to incorporate learning) in the mailbox. Aaawww...
